DE MELLO WEEKEND

A workshop on Life and Prayer, inspired by the work of Anthony de Mello.
Presenter: John Callanan, SJ.
Cost: €180 - deposit €40

De Mello Spirituality Conference

Once upon a time there was a Jesuit spiritual teacher named Anthony de Mello. He touched the hearts of people across the continents because he was so interested in life - real, vibrant, joy filled living. His captivating stories, his warmth and humour, his insights into happiness and the discovery of the true self - all had an exhilarating effect on everyone who listened to him. He went about liberating hearts, making sense out of nonsense, giving meaning to whatever spiritual path one trod.

Anthony de Mello combined in a unique way the spirituality of St Ignatius and elements from ancient yogic tradition.

One constant spirit evident in his teaching centered not on himself, but on each of us:
to bring out the guru in ourselves,
to dance our own dance,
to sing our own song.

Anthony de Mello delighted in the command:
"Be a light unto yourself."
It is in this spirit that we invite you to join us in: Exploring creative roads to Spirituality

A time to:
...become aware of your own light
...open the doors to the real world
...gain insight into living happily
...share your light with others
...sing the song of the bird
...embrace the prayer of the frog.

Conference Themes: happiness, suffering, self-awareness, relationships, transformations, love.

John Callanan, S.J. will work these and other themes into exercises that will help you "become a light unto yourself" ..... to help penetrate the goodness that is in you.

John Callanan, S.J. says, "I first met Anthony de Mello when he visited Ireland 20 years ago and was so captivated by the freshness and realistic ways he spoke about prayer, that I have been a fan ever since." John Callanan, S.J. has published four books on the prayer style of Anthony de Mello and has conducted numerous workshops and retreats on the same subject in the U.S.A., Europe and Africa.
